1A. Convention Question

Conventions of real media texts/creativity, research and planning For my AS media coursework I created an indie music magazine, titled ‘Now Indie’, aimed at 15- 24 year olds, based on my audience research and planning. For my A2 media coursework I created a regional lifestyle magazine, titled ‘Cornish Life’, following genre conventions and audience expectations. Throughout the planning stages with both my AS and A2 coursework I used various platforms such as ‘Survey Monkey’ in order to understand more about a specific audience demographic for both my magazines. This allowed me to adapt my style in order to appeal to this audience demographic, because I was able to ask a wide group of people what they would like to see in both my AS and A2 magazines. Digital technology & post production

For my media coursework at both AS and A2 level, I chose to complete the print brief tasks in order to ensure that both my written and practical skills were improved. Throughout the creation of my A2 work I participated in a photo shoot that took place at Lanhydrock Throughout my AS and A2 media work I developed a range of practical skills that helped to improve my practical work. One of the main platforms I used when creating my practical coursework was Photoshop, where I relied on a variety of different tools in this platform to improve the quality of my work.  Through using platforms such as Photoshop, Dreamweaver and InDesign, this improved my digital editing skills, as I was using tools in my A2 work that I had not used previously in my AS work. This therefore ensured that I was improving the appearance of my work as I was considering conventions carefully and was using the appropriate tools when necessary.
